A Curriculum Designed for Curious Minds
At The International Preschool and Kindergarten, our curriculum is inspired by the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1, combining academic excellence with meaningful hands-on experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Every lesson has a purpose. Every activity is carefully planned to help children become confident communicators, creative thinkers, problem solvers, and compassionate individuals who are well prepared for the next stage of their education.
How Children Learn
Hands-On Learning
Children learn best when they can explore, investigate, build, create, experiment, and discover for themselves.
Our teachers carefully plan meaningful experiences that encourage children to ask questions, solve problems, and make connections through active participation.
Purposeful play lies at the heart of our teaching, transforming curiosity into meaningful learning and helping children develop a genuine love of discovery.
Curriculum Areas
English & Communication
Language is woven throughout every part of the school day. Through English immersion, Jolly Phonics, storytelling, conversations, role play, and rich vocabulary experiences, children become confident speakers, readers, writers, and communicators.
Mathematics
Children develop mathematical thinking through practical investigations, games, and real-life experiences, building confidence with number, reasoning, measurement, shape, pattern, and problem solving.
STEM, Computing & Digital Learning
Children develop curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking through hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
They investigate, experiment, build, design, solve problems, and explore age-appropriate coding concepts that encourage logical thinking and computational skills.
As technology continues to shape the world around us, children are also introduced to digital literacy through carefully guided experiences that help them use technology creatively, responsibly, and confidently.
Older children begin exploring simple AI-assisted learning and prompt writing, developing an early understanding of how to ask thoughtful questions, communicate ideas clearly, and use emerging technologies safely and purposefully.
Creative Arts
Painting, ceramics, music, drama, dance, imaginative play, and our Artists Programme encourage children to express themselves while developing creativity, confidence, and imagination.
Physical Development & Wellbeing
Daily physical activity, outdoor learning, yoga, movement, and physical education help children develop coordination, balance, strength, confidence, and healthy habits.
Personal, Social & Emotional Development
We nurture kindness, resilience, independence, responsibility, leadership, and respect, helping every child become a thoughtful, confident, and caring member of the community.
Learning Progression
Younger Nursery (2–3 Years)
Building confidence, communication, independence, and early exploration through play.
Nursery (3–4 Years)
Developing language, early literacy, mathematical understanding, creativity, and curiosity.
Reception (4–5 Years)
Strengthening reading, writing, mathematics, independence, and school readiness.
Year 1 & 2 (5–7 Years)
Developing confident readers, writers, mathematicians, and independent learners ready for a successful transition to primary education.
Learning Through Themes
Throughout the year, children explore carefully planned themes that connect learning across all curriculum areas. These themes inspire curiosity while making meaningful links between literacy, mathematics, science, the arts, and the world around us.
